Carlton Nicholas Elam, Ill "CHRIS" Elam of Powhatan, VA went to be with his Lord on Sunday, February 23, 2020. Chris is predeceased by his Grandfather Carlton Nicholas Elam, Sr. and his Grandmother Rachel Mister Elam of Powhatan, VA. He is survived by his wife Stacey Staton Elam of Gardendale, AL; mother, Lee Burnette Elam of Midlothian, VA; father and step-mother Dr. Nick Elam (Debbie) of Powhatan, VA; son, Jarrett (Elizabeth) Elam of Hampton, VA.; son Nicholas (Noel) Elam of Amelia, VA; brother James Burnette Elam (Mary) of Moseley, VA; Aunt Josephine Elam Gates and Cousin Jay Gates (Suzanna) of Midlothian, VA. Chris' grandchildren were a joy to him and he dearly loved each one ... Kael, Jack and Scarlett. Step-sons Jamie Reeves and Justin Teer of Gardendale, AL. Chris also leaves his life time friends Eston and Wendy Pace and Robert and Jennine Parks. Chris was born on a snowy Christmas Day in 1962. Chris never met a stranger. He lived in Powhatan County most of his life attending Huguenot Academy and enjoyed working on various farms in the County. Chris was a member of the Powhatan 4-H and enjoyed showing cows as a hobby. Chris was a lover of the word of God and was very well versed in Scripture. He enjoyed discussing Biblical History and truly knew what it meant to Love Thy Neighbor. Even though his time on earth was cut short, he loved life, the outdoors, fishing, hunting, smiling, animals of all kinds, the 2nd Amendment, and his can of Coppenhagen. We was dearly loved and will be missed more than words can express. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Bethel Baptist Church; 1100 Huguenot Spring Road; Midlothian, VA 23113. Chris' family will receive visitors at Bennett and Barden Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 8:00pm and where services will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at 11 :00 am.
