David Price Innes

INNES, David Price, 72, of Powhatan, formerly of Henrico, died March 20, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born April 20, 1939 to the late Price and Kate Innes. He was predeceased by his companion of 22 years, Margie Barden; sister, Barbara McKinney. He is survived by his son, Michael Shepard Innes and his wife, Tammi Joy of Powhatan; brother, Steve Innes and Glenda of Georgia; grandchildren, so precious to him, Taylor Noel, Michelle Katherine and Michael David-Keith Innes; cherished previous wife, Marguerite Thomas and longtime great friend, Carolyn Springer; nieces, nephews and their children, along with many great friends. He worked as an entomologist for the Virginia Department of Agriculture for 40 years. We will miss his so very much and hold all of our precious memories together and forever. David was a U. S. Marine and a "survivor" of Parris Island. He was a graduate of Lynchburg College and did post graduate work at Virginia Tech. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 pm at the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy. (Rt. 60), Powhatan and where a memorial service will be held Saturday 11 am. Interment private. The family wishes to thank Odyssey Hospice for their care and support.
