Douglas Ivanhoe Yeamans

November 17, 1961 — July 31, 2020

Yeamans, Douglas I., 58, of Williamsburg, Va., son of the late Ivanhoe and Dorothy Yeamans of Powhatan, Va. and brother of George Yeamans, unexpectedly departed this life, July 31st, at his Williamsburg home. He is survived by his 2 sisters, Susan Yeamans of Powhatan, Elizabeth Yeamans, Canton, Ohio, nephews, Ryan and Wyatte Lindenbaum, Zach Clinger, Steven Yeamans, niece, Kimberly Chatham (Charles), and 1 great-nephew, Charles Emmit Chatam. Doug was a graduate of Powhatan High School, Powhatan, Va. He then attended William and Mary College, Williamsburg, Va. on a football scholarship. After he decided to pursue other undergraduate academic avenues, he continued his education at William and Mary while also working in management at the Kings Arms Tavern in Colonial Williamsburg. After Doug completed his Bachelor's degree at William and Mary, he made Williamsburg his home. Doug's favorite sports were archery and hunting. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed. A graveside service, where his ashes will be interred, will be held for family and friends at Old Powhatan Baptist Church, on Old Church Rd., Saturday, October 17th at 10:00 a.m.
