Edgar Ray Samuel, Jr.

SAMUEL, Jr., Edgar "Ray", 56, of Powhatan, passed away suddenly September 20, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 34 years, Sharon Shumaker Samuel; son, Brandon Alexander Samuel (Allison) of Midlothian; daughter, Tiffany Rae Miller (Jeramie) of Manassas; mother, Dorothy S. Jackson (William McKeever) of Powhatan; sisters, Linda Mae Samuel of Palmyra, Mary S. Bradstock of Powhatan; grandson, Chase Miller. He is also survived by numerous other family members and dear friends. He was a dedicated employee of Dominion Power for 38 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #311 of Midlothian. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 pm at the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy. (Rt. 60), Powhatan. Funeral services will be held Monday 11 am at the May Memorial Baptist Church. Interment Powhatan Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association, Powhatan Volunteer Rescue Squad or Powhatan Relay for Life.
