Gary Wade Morris

November 25, 1956 — January 23, 2021

Gary Wade Morris departed this life January 23, 2021. He is preceded in his death by his mother -- Maggie L. Morris, father -- Robert H. Morris, brother -- Kenneth F. Morris, and many beloved aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife Sharon and three daughters: Stephannie Brickley (Matt), Jessica Boggia (Jon), and Micaela Morris as well as two grandsons Kason and Ian Brickley. A brother Bob (Sherri), two nephews Micah and Joel (Jenny) Morris, and nephew Ricky Morris. Gary loved and cared for his family. Along with Sharon and their three children, he worked to bring the farm alive which at its height contained a menagerie of animals including horses, rabbits, goats, dogs, cats, chickens and guineas. He had a passion for the animals and the land, as well as the trees they grew for harvest, spending many hours in the sun riding his tractor across the fields and days out in nature enjoying the quietness of the creek or sitting by the pond he created. An enthusiast of music, boating, fishing, reading and travel, Gary took great joy in sharing his passions with friends and loved ones throughout his life. Gary began his career as an apprentice with the Local 10 Plumbers and Steamfitters before being employed by ABB and seeing through a 45 year long career through multiple transitions with Alstom power and finally to General Electric/Fieldcore where he advanced to the position of Field Engineer. His career allowed him many opportunities to travel to many locales and experience different cultures both in the US and abroad. Everywhere he traveled, he loved to meet new people and enjoy new experiences, making many new friends and acquaintances along the way. He will be sorely missed by his best friends and bandmates, many of whom he knew when he was young and later reunited. Others in the band were new friends but quickly became dear to him. Gary had a talent for entertaining others with stories and tales of his adventurous experiences. He loved to tell jokes and was a prankster. He never backed down to a challenge and was not afraid to stand his ground. Gary had a belly full of infectious laughter and a smile that will be missed by those who knew him. It’s with a heavy heart we say goodbye. A private service will be held for family and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
