Georgia Eley Hening

Georgia E. Hening, 87, of Powhatan, died July 9, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark M. Hening; one daughter, Patty Wood. She is survived by her sons, Richard Hening (Suzanne) of Rocky Mount, N.C., Thomas Hening (Polly Miller) of Powhatan; four grandchildren, Andrew Hening (Tiffany), Sam Hening, Sean and Taylor Wood; three great grandchildren, Ashton Grayson Hening, Ayden Grey Hening and Coltin Jayce Griffin. Georgia was President of Ladies Auxillary at Mary Washington Hospital, member of Providence Presbyterian Church, Powhatan Historical Society, Powhatan Women's Club. She loved Steve Bassett music, Big Band music, scrabble, bridge, family time and loved life. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy.(Rt.60), Powhatan and where services will be held 2 pm Wednesday. Interment Hening Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Powhatan Volunteer Rescue Squad or Encompass Home Health and Hospice.
