James Lee "Butchie" Wilson

March 21, 1955 — March 12, 2020

James Lee “Butchie” Wilson, passed away on March 12, 2020. James began his journey in NJ on March 21,1955 and later moved to Powhatan, VA. He served his country in the United States Navy and was employed with US Airways/American Airlines for 42 years. James enjoyed traveling, listening to music, and spending time with loved ones. This world lost an extraordinary man and our family lost an amazing son, brother, uncle, and friend. He joined his father Jimmie Lee Wilson (NJ), brother Samuel Wilson (FL) and grandmother Pearl Coates (PA) in heaven. He leaves behind his mother Anna R. Wilson and sister Gwendolyn Wilson; nephew Robert Adams Jr.; nephew Sean (Antoinette) Adams; grandnephew Vyshohn Adams and grandniece Londyn Adams. He is lovingly remembered by his good friends Weston and Lori Hinden and their children Garrett, Dana, and Brent and a multitude of other friends and coworkers. As a result of his loving spirit and pleasant demeanor, he is lovingly remembered by many and will be dearly missed by his extended family members in PA, NJ, and GA. Lastly, he was a spiritual man. He enjoyed sharing the goodness of God with everyone he met. He battled cancer for more than two years with faith and handled anything that came his way with remarkable grace. He never complained about pain, being tired or medical treatments. James fought a good fight and kept the faith and was called home to be with the Lord. We love you forever and always. You will never be forgotten; we will cherish our memories of you. Thank you for the gift of great memories and a legacy of love, until we meet again. Floral arrangements and cards can be sent to Anna Wilson. We invite you to join us to laugh, to cry, and to celebrate the life of this amazing person. Visitation will be held at 2:00 PM on July 18th, 2020 at the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Highway (RT 60), Powhatan, VA.
