James Ray Blanton

James "Brother" Ray Blanton, of Amelia, departed this life, March 3, 2015. He was born October 29, 1938. James was preceded in death by his parents, Alex Clark Blanton and Florence Eva Hutchinson; brother, Edward Clark Blanton; sister, Mary Jane Maples. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Blanton; four children, Skip Blanton (Dee), Brenda Mastin (Ron) both of Louisa, Susan Sequist (Corey), Peggy Swinson (Ronnie) both of Amelia; four brothers, Mickey Blanton (Jean), David Blanton (Connie), Raymond Blanton (Joan), Charles Blanton (Betty); ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 pm in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy.(Rt.60), Powhatan and where services will be held Saturday at 12 noon.
