John Kenneth Edwards

John Kenneth Edwards, 81, of Powhatan, went home with Jesus after a long illness December 17, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia; sons, Kenneth (Deb), Larry (Mary Linda), Ricky (Deb); daughter, Wanda Nichols (Barry); brother, Robert A. Edwards (Bobbie); sister, Joyce E. Ammons; six grandchildren, Jeremy, Sarah, Rebekah, Patrick, Ryan, Troy and five great grandchildren. John owned and operated J.K. Edwards & Son, Ltd. for over thirty years remodeling and building homes. He was a Past Worshipful Master of Powhatan Lodge #295 where he served as Treasurer for many years. He belonged to Old Powhatan Baptist Church serving the Lord as a teacher of the Men's Class and a deacon for many years. He truly loved the Lord and was blessed by his service. A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 am in the Old Powhatan Baptist Church, 2202 Old Church Rd. Powhatan. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
