Philip R. Ward

Philip R. Ward, 59, of Powhatan passed away December 30, 2020. He is survived by his beloved wife Virginia L. Ward; three children Jeff M. Duty (Jenny), Jessica Duty Polley (Ralph), Jacob T. Ward; father Thomas Ward; eight grandchildren Ryker, Liberty, Annalee, Kaitlyn "Ella", James, Eliza, Priscilla Jane, Parker; siblings Diane Elrod, Charlie Ward (Maggi) and Susie Brummer (Craig). He was preceeded in death by his mother Doris; brothers Steve and Kenny. Philip was an avid reader and a lover of history. He was an active member in his work union. He never met a stranger. Philip had a natural love for life always wanting to put a smile on your face whether it be telling a quirky joke or lending a helping to anyone in need. Above all he loved spending many trips on the James River with his loving wife.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
