Shirley Barlow Minter

Shirley Barlow Minter, 72, of Powhatan, went to be with her Lord June 4, 2013. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy L. Minter; son, Roger Minter (Tessa) of Powhatan; daughter, Tina Platz (Bobby) of Blue Ridge; sisters, Dot Bullock of Mechanicsville, Iola Utz (Ken) of Amelia; brothers, Henry Barlow (Nancy), Ray Barlow (Betty Ann), Anthony Barlow (Evelyn), all of Ruther Glen; grandchildren, Evan, Lindsey, Ryan, Jay, Danielle; devoted niece, Ann Bristow of Florida. She was a long time member of Meadowbrook Country Club, active member of Ann's Clan Relay for Life Team. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy. (Rt. 60), Powhatan. Funeral services will be held Friday 2 pm in Powhatan United Methodist Church. Interment Powhatan Community Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
