Steven Thomas Truchinski

November 4, 1936 — April 9, 2018

Truchinski, Steven Thomas, 81 of Powhatan, was called home to be with the Lord Monday, April 9, 2018. He is preceded in death by this parents, Steve and Sophie Truchinski. He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years Sandra Truchinski, his daughters Sheryl Ward (Bill), North Chesterfield, VA, Tracy Weigel (Marc) Fredericksburg, VA, a granddaughter Erika Cline (Derrick) and two great granddaughters McKenzee and Rylee of Powhatan and a sister Joan McGuigan (George) of Northport, NY along with several nieces and nephews. Steve born in Worchester, MA., was a retired Navy Veteran and worked for the Department of Defense for 18 years and retired to Florida where in resided with his wife for 25 years and recently returned to Virginia to be closer to family. Steve never met a stranger and always had stories to tell to all who would listen. He had a fighting spirit and vibrant zest for life and loved spending time with his family. Two of his favorite phrases were “It is what it is” and “if you can’t laugh about it, it ain’t worth doin”. There will be a Memorial Service 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2018 at Bennett & Barden Funeral Home in Powhatan Virginia. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation at upc.org/donate.
