In Loving Memory of Barbara Smith Cundiff

Barbara Smith Cundiff, 86, of Powhatan, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose kindness and compassion touched countless lives. She was a woman of deep faith who found strength and comfort in her relationship with God throughout her life. Her faith guided her actions and was reflected in the love, generosity, and grace she showed to everyone she met.

Above all else, Barbara loved her family. She dedicated her life to caring for her children and took great joy in watching her family grow through the generations. She was a devoted mother to Ann Marie Brown, Paul Edward Smith Jr. (Shelia), and John Lee Smith III, daughter-in-law, Rebecca Smith. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Aubrey Dean Smith, who passed away in 2024, as well as her parents and siblings.

Barbara's legacy continues through her eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense pride and happiness to her life.

She was also a devoted animal lover with a gentle spirit and a caring heart. Whether caring for family, friends, or animals in need, Barbara always put others before herself. Her warmth, kindness, and willingness to help anyone will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Though our hearts are saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing that her love, faith, and beautiful spirit will live on in the many lives she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, devotion, and unconditional love that will never be forgotten.

The family will receive friends to honor and celebrate Barbara's life 5pm to 7pm Friday June 12, at Bennett & Barden Funeral Home 3215 Anderson Hwy. Powhatan Va. 23139

Barbara will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
