Barbara Jean Merchant

Barbara Jean B.J. Merchant, 85, of Powhatan Virginia went to be with the lord on April 3, 2026.She is survived by her husband of 51 years Charles Merchant; son Stewart Mann (Judy), daughter Millie Doyle (John); grandchildren Michael, Makaela, Sean; great-granddaughter Layla; brother, Melvin Blankenship and sister in-law Gloria Blankenship. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved softball, bowling, bingo, Jeff Gordon. But most of all she loved her grandchildren and the lord. The family will receive friends Thursday April 9, 2026, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home Powhatan. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
