Betty Hutchinson Jones

Betty Hutchinson Jones, 88 of Powhatan, Virginia, passed away May 5, 2026. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Luster and Dorothy Markham Hutchinson; siblings, Mildred St. Clair (Roger) and Leonard Hutchinson; loving husband of 61 years, Everett (Pete) Jones.

She is survived by her daughter, Candy Jones Daniels; granddaughter, Kristin Daniels Yarboro (Justin); great-grandson, Anderson Reed Yarboro; siblings, Doris Chandler, Wayne Hutchinson, Lucy Gillispie (John), Linda Harmon (Billy) and Bonnie Lapradd (Calvin); special friends, Barbara Ferguson, Wilma Updike, Matt & Denise Haas and Melvin Hayes.

Betty worked for Dupont for 32 years before she retired in 1992 as a TA in the research and development laboratory. She was a woman of many talents and operated Fairway Income Taxes from her home for 23 years. She served as a sunday school teacher, church clerk, mission commitee chairperson, choir member, started Bible Studies groups and was the Lead singer with the Faith Gospel Singers. She published 4 books, shared neighborhood newsletters, and helped to spread the Gospel and important current affairs. She served in multiple churches over the years, such as Bryant Park Freewill Baptist, Holly Hills Baptist, First Baptist of Powhatan, Colonial Baptist, Blue Ridge, VA and Graceland Baptist, Powhatan, VA.

She will always be remembered as a person who Loved her God and Loved her fellow Man.

The family will receive friends 6pm to 8pm Sunday May 10, 2026 at Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, where her service will be held 11am Monday. Interment will be 1pm Tuesday in Glade Creek Cemetery, Blue Ridge, VA. Online condolences may be made at bennettbardenfh.com
