Beverly Anne Collins

September 2, 1956 — February 11, 2021

Beverly Anne Collins, 64, of Powhatan, Virginia, formerly of Bucks County, PA, and Bloomsburg, PA, returned to her heavenly home on February 11, 2021. Beverly was born in Trenton, NJ on September 2, 1956. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Edward and Anne Polster, of Levittown PA. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, of sixteen years, Joseph Collins, Sr. She is survived by her children that loved her dearly, Anne Doris Valvoda (Joseph) and Jay Collins (Ashley); four stepchildren; two brothers; three sisters; and six grandchildren that were her whole world: Jaxon, Finley, Ainsley, Abigail, Bennett and Reagan. Beverly was aunt to a number of nieces and nephews, and a step grandmother to many as well. Beverly also had many friends and neighbors that she enjoyed spending time with, and that she held dear. Most of Beverly’s life was spent as a homemaker. The earlier years of her marriage were spent helping her husband grow his business. She also volunteered at her children’s school and did some substitute teaching while her children were school-aged. For some time later in her life, Beverly taught private school, and loved her classes of middle school English students. She enjoyed watching football, especially when her son, Jay, played in high school and college. She was a lover of reading, writing, studying, talking and debating. And she absolutely loved children, all children, and those that fell on hard times or needed a friend.
Beverly loved the Lord, and her family, with all her heart. She spent her life devoted to reading and studying God’s Word, seeking the truth and sharing what she knew. She loved just being in the presence and company of her family, and dear friends. She was close with her children, Anne and Jay, and she was very proud of the adults that they had become, including their spouses, Joe and Ashley. Her grandchildren brought her a great amount of joy. She loved holding them, and playing with them, but above all else, she loved talking to them and telling them about God and stories of their family. Beverly will be missed immensely by her family, but they are thankful for the examples she set with her life, and they are thankful for the time they had together. There is comfort and peace for the family in knowing she is in the glory of the Lord. Services will be held Saturday, February 27, at 1:00 pm, at Powhatan Christian Fellowship Church, 3308 Pleasants Road, Powhatan VA 23139. A reception will be held immediately after the service, at the home of Anne and Joe Valvoda (3593 Walkers Branch, Powhatan, VA 23139), until 4:00pm. Beverly was close to the pastor, and his wife, of Shepherd’s Chapel, during her time in Bloomsburg, PA. If it presses upon your heart to donate, donations may be made to: Shepherds’ Chapel, P.O. Box#1402, North Wales, PA, 19454, Attn: Pastor Bill Rudolph. Or, more recently, Beverly was attending Powhatan Christian Fellowship.
