Obituary

Connie Clay Glass of Bedford, Virginia walked into the arms of Jesus on Saturday July 11, 2026.

Connie grew up in Red House, Virginia and graduated from Faith Christian School. She retired from J.Crew in Lynchburg after 22 years of service. She was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church in Goodview, VA.

Connie was a true Proverbs 31 woman of God, a pastor’s wife, prayer warrior, number one fan of her family and exceptional grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents Gracie and Morell, a daughter Laurie Michelle Glass,

Two brothers, James and Danny, and a sister Katherine.

She is survived by her husband of almost 51 years Rev. Donnie G. Glass, two children Stephen (Allison) of Lynchburg VA and Rebekah (Travis) of Powhatan Va.

6 grandchildren, Elijah, Joshua, Isaiah, Annalynn, Reagan & Aaron.

She is also survived by her loving siblings: Phillip (Ann) , Margaret, Glenn (Jeannie), Mavis, and Randy as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Connie exemplified the true marks of a Proverbs 31 woman. She lived her life with quiet grace and faithful, steadfast love. She accepted Jesus as a young girl and He changed her life forever.

She was a hard worker, a Sunday School teacher, nursery worker, children’s ministry worker and so much more. Besides her Savior Jesus Christ, her family was her heart. She truly lived for them and did all that she could to make every birthday, Christmas, or event special for them.

She also was a true warrior when it came to her health. Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at an early age, she constantly had to fight that battle in her life. In 2015 she received a new lease on life when she received the gift of a kidney. That new kidney gave her more time to spend with her family that she cherished most. We are forever grateful to the Lord for her life and love that she showed to us in many ways.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Southside Baptist Church 1060 Hidden Forest Drive in Goodview, Virginia with a 10:00am viewing, 11:00am funeral service followed by a luncheon and graveside service at 2:00pm at Virginia Memorial Park, 11490 Forest Road, Forest, Virginia 24551. Services will be officiated by Pastor Travis L. Keith and Pastor Bob Lee.

Connie’s favorite color was lavender and we ask that if you have anything lavender/purple to wear it in honor of our sweet Mom.
