Carole Noland Roth, 76, of Henrico, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Nov. 24, 2025. Her time on Earth was cut short by a brief battle with lung cancer.
Born on Nov. 4, 1949, in Hamlet, North Carolina, Carole was the daughter of James Nolan and Patsy Parham Nolan. She is survived by her brother Jay Nolan, sons Colin Taylor and Alexander Parham Roth, and grandson Hibiki Norman Konishi-Taylor.
Ever elegant and stylish, Carole loved fashion, art, plants, and nature. But above all, she was a gifted conversationalist who knew no strangers and cared deeply about social justice. She was able to relate to practically everyone, from the affluent to the downtrodden, and she cherished her friendships with people from different cultures.
Burdened in recent years by health conditions and chronic pain, Carole now rests peacefully in a better place. She will be deeply missed by many who loved her and will be remembered with affection for the meaningful connections she nurtured throughout her life.
Special thanks to the good folks at Anchored in Peace Assisted Living in Powhatan, who provided a loving home for Carole during her final days. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 22, 2026 at her longtime church, St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Richmond, Virginia.
