Carrie B. Smith, 71, of Powhatan, died March 9, 2014. She is survived by her children, Cheri S. Blevins (Jerry) of Palmyra; Darrell G. Smith, Jr. (Katharine) of Powhatan; fiancee', Randy Mullins of Powhatan; grandchildren, Deanna and Slayter Smith. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy. (Rt. 60), Powhatan. A memorial service will be held Thursday 7 pm at New Harvest Assembly of God Church. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
