Charleen Ann Stultz, 91, of Powhatan, VA passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23,2026.
She was born on July 8, 1935 in Lafayette, IN to Clifford P. Singley and Lucile Clingenpeel Singley. Charleen grew up on a farm near Lafayette and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1953. She continued her education in Indianapolis, IN and received a Licensed Practical Nursing degree. Charleen married Allen W. Stultz in May 1956. They later divorced.
Upon moving to Virginia, her career led her to Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond where she worked for 35 years in the orthopedic department. She was a great cook and cherished her home.. and Several cats found a loving and safe sanctuary in that home.. Charleen was a member of the Powhatan United Methodist Church where she helped with many events and dinners. Her nursing career and working with the congregation of this church was her way of serving God.
She created many sweaters and afghans with her knitting and crocheting. Although she became legally blind, with the help of neighbors and friends, she continued to live and maintain her own home. She is survived by her sister, Norma Jean Singley; and several cousins.
A Celebration of Life with be held at a later date.
