Christopher Jacob Jones, 43, of Powhatan, Virginia passed away on August 6, 2026 at home in his sleep. A celebration of Life will be held at Bennett and Barden Funeral Home on August 12, 2026, at 4:00pm.

Born in Anchorage, Alaska, on March 26,1983, Chris graduated from University of Nevada Reno with a degree in English. Chris worked for many years in the oilfields of Prudhoe Bay, Alaska with MI Swaco. Chris went global with MI Swaco spending time offshore in Malaysia and Thailand working Pressure Fluid Management. He was also sent to Scotland for High Pressure Pump school then was assigned off shore in Texas, Louisiana and Alaska. Most recently, Chris was an Apprentice with the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Local 45 out of Richmond, Virginia, working as a rigger with WO GRUBB Crane Rental.

Christopher was an avid reader; he enjoyed all the Patrica Cornwell books and the John Sanford “Prey” series. Chris loved sports; with his passions being baseball and hockey. Chris played baseball at Shoreline Community College and skated with the University of Nevada Reno roller hockey team winning the National Collegiate Championship in 2005.

Chris was preceded in death by his Grandmother Peggy Dixon, Grandfather Phil Clark, and his Uncle’s Jack and Andy Tiger. He is survived by his parents Jim and Jackie, his brother and sister-in-law, Corey and Chantele and his niece and nephew Poppi and Roman.

Christopher will be remembered by family and friends for his unwavering smile and love for family and friends. His laughter and loyalty were gifts of all that knew him.
