Curtis Lee Salyer November 11, 1942 - March 9, 2023
Curtis was born in Lebanon, Virginia on November 11, 1942. His parents were Amos Lee
Salyer and Juanita King Salyer. Curtis' heart always stayed in Southwest Virginia. In 1954, the family moved to Amelia, Virginia where Curtis enjoyed school, sports and a wonderful way of life.
In 1961, Curtis moved to Chesterfield where he worked for Sears, Bank of Virginia, Eubank, White and Universal Truck Sales, Truck Enterprises and Capital GMC. Curtis spent his last 20 years of employment as a painting contractor.
In 1963, Curtis married Arlene Golden and for the next 48 years they raised two fine sons: Curtis Chadwick (Chad) Salyer and D. Kevin Salyer (wife Candy). Curtis has two grandchildren: Ian Salyer and Morgan Salyer; two great-grandchildren, Reagan and Gracelynn Rice; and two step-grandchildren, Cheyenne and Austin Urbine. Curtis has two brothers: Ronnie Salyer of Chesterfield and Mike Salyer of Florida. Curtis has many friends, four of whom were special friends as well as mentors: Charles Staton, Earl D. (Skip) Bottom, Kurt Miller and J. A. Barton Campbell.
In 2012, Curtis married Deborah Hess and for the next 11 years, they were able to travel and enjoy each other's company to the fullest.

A Service will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 11:00 AM to be held at Bethel Baptist Church in the People of Hope Center.
