Obituary

David Anthony Toth, 75, passed away surrounded by the love of his family.

David was born on May 12, 1951, in Jenkins, Kentucky. He attended Eastern Kentucky University and dedicated 30 years of his career to DuPont before retiring in 2009. He made his home in Cumberland, Virginia, where he built a life filled with family, friendship, hard work and service to others.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine Toth; his children, Jason Toth of Durham, North Carolina; Dustin Toth(Heather), of Chesterfield, Virginia; and Allison Hadra(Jonathan), of Norfolk, Virginia; his stepdaughter, Traci Ritt of Powhatan, Virginia; and his stepson, Russ Messick(Sheri) of Lexington, South Carolina. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren as well as 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren from Elaine's family, all of whom brought him endless joy and pride.

David enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening, working on home projects, following sports and attending sporting events. He especially cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known by many as "Mr. 'Can Do Anything', David was always willing to lend a hand, solve a problem and help those around him. His dedication, kindness, generosity and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

David will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will live on through the many lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply. That is a legacy no illness can ever take away.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Passion Community Church, 4480 Anderson Highway, Powhatan, Va. 23139, in honor of David.
