Celebrating the beautiful life of Dorothea Mae Benton who was born on September 9, 1971 in Brooklyn New York and relocated to Virginia where her family currently resides. Dorothea left to be with the Lord on September 3, 2026. She lives on through her loving husband Kenneth along with her three wonderful children Nicholas, Olivia and Sophia as well as her Mother Gloria and her husband Gerry and her brother John along with his wife Andrea and two children Aiden and Makayla. Dorothea was a beloved Mother, wife, Daughter, Aunt and Friend. She was a fantastic mother who took care of her family and was the superglue that held them together. She took care of everyone that came into her home and loved to be surrounded by her friends and family by her pool with a cold drink in her hand. She loved spending her Sunday mornings with her mother Gloria at Rosies and also enjoyed the weekly “kick out” of John from the pool parties. Dorothea loved spending time with her husband and children as her world revolved around them. Dorothea was such an amazing, strong, hardworking and loving woman who was taken far too soon but her legacy will be carried on through her children and all that loved her.

A visitation will be held Thursday, September 10, 2026 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home. Where a service will be held at 11:00 am. Interment Powhatan Community Cemetery.
