Obituary

Elaine Glascoe, born October 21, 1948, in Washington, DC, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, in Henrico, Virginia.

Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Natalie Tesesa Rosetta; her father, Allen E. Glascoe; and her brother, Franklin Glascoe. She is survived by her brother, Allen E. Glascoe, sister-in-law Vivian; her sister, Teresa Murgia; her son, Lloyd J. VanSickle III and his wife, Annamarie; and her daughter, Amy Elizabeth Ridenour and her husband, Glenn.

She was a proud and loving grandmother to four grandchildren: Brenna Ridenour, Grant Ridenour, Olivia Ridenour, and Marran VanSickle, all of whom she cherished deeply and loved beyond measure.

Elaine dedicated many years of her professional life to banking, retiring from Bank of America. Later in life, she found great fulfillment working in a nursing home, where she formed meaningful connections and brought comfort and kindness to others.

Elaine had a deep love of travel and adventure, exploring many parts of the world throughout her life. Her journeys took her to Panama, across numerous states, and to Germany, where she lived, traveled, and enjoyed camping. A lifelong learner, she thoughtfully explored her faith and relationship with God, which led her to make several pilgrimages to Israel.

Elaine also had a special fondness for animals and will be remembered for the joy she found in her many “grand pets,” which included cats, dogs, and horses. She delighted in spoiling them just as much as she did her grandchildren.

Above all, Elaine will be remembered for her love of family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her warmth, strength, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services will be Friday August 14th from 2-4 p.m. at Bennett & Barden Funeral Home in Powhatan, VA.
