Elizabeth Louella Mabry Benton

Elizabeth (Liz) Louella Mabry Benton, 88 of Powhatan, VA, went to be with the Lord on November 2, 2025. Her last days were spent at "Anchored in Peace" where she and her family received love and outstanding care during these last weeks of her time here on earth. Liz is finally at peace with her Lord and Savior and the love of her life, "Lamar".

She was the daughter of the late Anderson Goodrich and Vesta Bond Mabry and was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Lamar Benton and by her brothers, Elbert Cecil Mabry and Anderson Goldman Mabry, and her sister, Sarah Nell Mabry Seabolt. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Moseley, Mona Holmes and Judy Farr; sons, Jim Benton and Mark Benton; 10 grandchildren, Ashley, Chris, Hannah, Caleb, Spencer, Allen, Alex, Joseph, Carter and Kayla; great grandchildren, Patrick, Abby, Grace, Hope, Vanessa, Blake and another great-grandson due in January.

Liz was a Faithful employee to Thalhimers for many years. After retirement, she devoted herself to helping others by volunteering with Relay for Life, and the Coalition of Powhatan Churches organizing the Silent Auction at the annual Power Shows and providing transportation to many in the community. Liz loved people and giving back to her community. She was respected and loved by many in the community and will be dearly missed.

The Family will receive friends Friday, November 7, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Highway, Powhatan. Where a service will be held at 2:00 PM. Interment Powhatan Community Cemetery.
