Elizabeth Sue Smith

Elizabeth Sue Smith, 84, of Powhatan passed away peacefully Thursday March 9th. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Jesse Smith, son Richard Smith, brothers George Stickler, David Stickler and Dewey Stickler. She is survived by sisters Shelva Richmond (Melvin) and Georgia Plumley (Marvin), sister-in-law Shelvia Nichols, daughters Brenda Smith and Becky McNamara (Mike), granddaughters Alicia Amos (David), Melissa Crane, grandson Dietrich Hertel (Corrina), great-grandsons Dane Einar, Freyr and Magnus, and great-granddaughters Shylynn and Beauly. She also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed canning and preserving, gardening, and sewing beautiful quilts. Her loving and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

A visitation will be held at Bennett & Barden Funeral Home on Friday, March 17th at 2:00PM, followed by a service at 3:00 PM.
