G. W. Huckaby

G. W. Huckaby, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Born on November 29, 1934, in Atkins, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. Huckaby and Leona M. Huckaby; brother Clarence Huckaby (Geraldine), sister Virgie Knottenkamper (Paul) and brother-in-law Jerry Smith. He is survived by his siblings, Ernest Lee Huckaby (Geraldine), Francis Smith (Jerry), Carolyn Sewell (Junior) and Kathryn Grigsby (Jerry Don), his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family.
He served in the U.S. Army, was employed as a painter, volunteered with the Franklin Lakes Volunteer Fire Department, enjoyed traveling, growing his garden, and drinking the perfect glass of buttermilk.
The Army brought him to New Jersey where he met his love of 64 years, Patricia Gorman Huckaby, and had 5 children, Sue Houtsma (Don), David Huckaby (Rena), Anthony Huckaby, Mary Huckaby-Lembo (Peter) and Amy Huckaby (Kevin).
He was blessed to have such a large and loving family with 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and a large extended family.
He will be missed dearly by family, friends and people who knew and loved him.
A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022, for family in Powhatan, Virginia. He will be buried in Atkins, Arkansas on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 2:00 PM..
