Glenn David Morgan, 86, of Powhatan, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2026. Glenn, who preferred to go by his middle name, was born on September 26, 1939 in Davy, West Virginia, where he spent his childhood and worked as a Coal Miner. At the age of 17, David joined the United States Air Force and served his country as a Military Police K9 Handler on the island of Okinawa. Following his military service, he returned to West Virginia where he earned his diploma from Baileysville High School and met his sweetheart and future wife, Angela (Berry).
In 1962, following high school and marriage, David moved to Painesville Ohio where he gained employment as a certified welder working for Caterpillar and teaching courses at nearby Lakeland Community College. In 1986, after raising his two sons Jeff and Gary, David relocated to Richmond, Virginia where he put his welding expertise to work developing patented machinery for several employers.
David loved his family and friends, sipping coffee whether by his fireplace or on his front porch, a good movie, playing chess, and boardgames with his grandchildren. He also loved deer hunting with his sons and beloved beagles Rusty, Frankie, Cisco, and Scout.
David was preceded in death by this parents, Glen and Maxine Morgan; and his brother Robert Morgan. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Angela, sister Victoria of Richmond, sons Gary of Powhatan, and Jeff (Karen) Morgan of Painesville, Ohio; and grandchildren, Clayton, and Katie Morgan both of Columbus, Ohio.
