Gordon Robert Henry Sr., 60, of Powhatan, Virginia, was called home by Jesus on May 7, 2026.
Gordon proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 10 years. After his military service, he worked as an electrician for Philip Morris, where he dedicated many years of hard work and skill to his profession.
More than anything, Gordon will be remembered for the life he built with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of nine years and lifetime dance partner, Penny Llewellyn Henry; his children, Gordon Robert Henry Jr. (J.R.), Erica Lynn Henry, Jessica May Henry, Joseph Drudge, Ashley Mast, and Conrad Mast; his grandchildren CJ Mast and Brantley Mast; and his best friend, Perry Baker.
Gordon was the kind of man whose presence filled a room. He carried a sharp sense of humor, a strong spirit, and a love for life that left lasting memories with those who knew him. Whether through laughter, music turned louder than it probably needed to be, or the countless moments shared with family and friends, Gordon leaves behind a legacy that will continue to echo through the people he loved.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Wednesday, May 13, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Highway, Powhatan, VA 23139.
A celebration of Gordon’s life will be held on Thursday, May 14, at 2:00 PM at Gospel Light Baptist Church, 2109 Anderson Highway, Powhatan, VA 23139, followed by a graveside service at Powhatan Community Cemetery. After the graveside service, family and friends are invited to return to the church for a luncheon and time of fellowship.
Gordon will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
