Helen Kidd DeNoon, 94, of Powhatan peacefully went to be with the Lord on May 31, 2026. Born on August 18, 1931 in Goochland, VA to the late Henry Massie Kidd and Sally Seay Kidd, she was raised in Columbia, VA and attended Fluvanna County Schools. In high school, Helen was known for her athletic ability and participated in basketball and cheerleading. She married Cecil I. DeNoon in 1951. They made their home in the community of Trenholm in Powhatan where they enjoyed 46 years together until his passing in 1997.

Helen was a proud employee of Virginia Mutal Insurance Company from which she retired in 2001 after 33 years of service. She enjoyed her home, gardening, flowers, cooking, finding a bargain at yard sales and spending time with family and friends. Helen especially cherished her church family at Muddy Creek Baptist Church where she faithfully attended until her health prevented her from doing so on a regular basis. Her greatest joy was being "Granny Noon" to her granddaughter and great grandsons.

She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil I. DeNoon; daughter, Donna Ann DeNoon; seven brothers and one sister. Left to treasure Helen's memory are her son, Durward Scott DeNoon (Joy) of Mechanicsville; one granddaughter, Emily DeNoon Bradberry (Caleb) of Nokesville; two great grandsons, Nolan and Tyler; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 6th at 10:00 am at Muddy Creek Baptist Church, 3470 Trenholm Road, Powhatan, VA. Where a Celebration of Life will follow at 11 am. Interment will be private at a later date.
