He traveled the world, visiting Europe many times while working in Chapel Hill, NC. He returned home to Richmond and at the age of 41, enrolled as a freshman at VCU. He was able to complete a little over three years before his health began to take a toll on him. Ray was an accomplished bull-shitter, guaranteed to outwit the best of them and came to have the gift of reading others and knew how to bring tears to most anyone’s eyes from laughter. His own laughter was infectious. Although he was prideful, almost to a fault, throughout his life; during his last year, he traded one virtue in for another and became very humble, as well as sharing beautiful secrets from his heart. He was a gift to all that knew and loved him. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 6th, 2020; 12:30-2:30pm at The Stone Barn in Maymont Park, Richmond, VA for immediate family and friends. Pastor Bryan Pope will officiate the ceremony. The family wishes memorial contributions be made to The Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute.
