Jeffrey Allen Hodges

Jeffrey Allen Hodges, 49, of Mechanicsville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on May 19th, 2025 at University Hospital surrounded by many of his loved ones.

Jeff is preceded in death by his father, Mickey Hodges Sr, and Granddaughter Destinee Lipscomb.

He is survived by his Mother, Brenda; his siblings, Amanda, Mickey Jr. and his wife Tara, and Michael; his children, Hannah and her husband Daniel, Julia and her husband Jamie, Cassidy and her partner Devonte, and Chloe and her partner Cole; his Grandchildren, Gabriel, Avaya, Walton, and Crystal; his nieces and nephews, Breanna, Melanie, Phoebe, and Seth; as well as many other close family and friends.

Jeffrey was born March 2nd, 1976 in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Jeff was a devoted father and grandfather who gave his whole life to his children. Even when he was on the road he made sure to attend every birthday party, wedding, or baby shower. He kept every little gift and memory from his children and grandchildren treating them as his most prized possessions.

He dedicated over twenty years in the trucking industry driving cross-country for Schneider and as an owner operator. Out of a desire to spend more time at home rather than on the road, he eventually transitioned to driving a gasoline tanker for Gemini Motor Transport. He dedicated over two years of hard work there as well as meeting many new friends.

Jeff always loved to learn new things taking time to read and watch documentaries. He took a particular interest in technology where he learned coding as a hobby.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in The Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Highway, Powhatan, VA. Where a service will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 2:00 PM. Condolences can be made at bennettbardenfh.com.
