October 13, 1944 — September 30, 2025

Callao

Jimmy Lynn Reamy, age 80, a beloved local of Callao, Virginia, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, and went home to be with his Lord and Savior that he so dearly loved. A faithful servant, he dedicated his life to serving God and others with a generous heart and a joyful spirit.

Born on October 13, 1944, in Callao, Jimmy was the son of the late Warren Jefferson Reamy and Nettie Francis Burgess Reamy. He cherished his Northern Neck community that he called home and seemed to never meet a stranger. He had a gift for conversation, an unforgettable sense of humor, and a warmth that drew people to him.

Jimmy proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard and later dedicated his career to public service and hard work. He retired both as a Richmond City firefighter and from Philip Morris. In 2005, answering a higher calling, he was ordained as a Baptist minister and served in many Northern Neck churches, sharing his faith and compassion with countless people.

Deeply involved in his community, Jimmy was a life member of the Callao Fire Department, a charter member of the Callao Rescue Squad, a proud member of the American Legion, a member of the Sons of the Confederacy, past master of Heathsville Lodge #109 and a member of Kinsale Lodge #212. He was also a member of the Richmond Retired Firefighters and a past president of the Powhatan Lion Club. His service and dedication left a lasting impact on those around him.

Above all, Jimmy was a family man. He shared 54 wonderful years of marriage with his loving wife, Joan Broce Reamy. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and faith. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Angie Akins (John) of Powhatan, and a proud grandfather to his granddaughter, Shelby Ann Akins. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.

Jimmy’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the countless people blessed to have known him.
