John David Austin, Sr., gained his wings on April 13, 2026. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leana Shon Austin; son, Malcolm Jay Austin; mother, parents, Galley & Wilma Austin; brother, Jay Austin.He is survived by his children, John David Austin, Jr. (Katie), Gabrielle Nixon (Miles), Amanda Singler (Kevin), Kelly McGranahan; his grandchildren, Amethyst, Griffon and Gage; his siblings, Steve, Craig and Mary Kay. 

John was born in Henrico, Virginia. He was raised in Pound/Wise, VA. John was known as a Jack of All Trades and utilized his skills to help and serve his family and community. In his spare time, you could find him spending time with family, jamming out to classic Rock or at his favorite spots such as crab tree falls and Stop 9. He was a simple man, Pizza Fanatic, car enthusiast and Tech gadget Connosieur. Most of all, John loved his family and friends. Though he had his struggles, at his worst of best, he had a personality and spirit that could bring a smile to any face. He had a warmth and kindness that left a lasting impresssion on all he met. We miss him more than words can possibly express.
