John Winfree Condrey, a retired Chesterfield County Police Officer, passed away on April 11, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on July 17, 1945, John dedicated his life to public service, family, and lasting friendships.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Winfree Condrey and Ida Vernell Condrey; his sisters, Glennice Dale Condrey and Joan Marie Bell; his brothers, Joseph Allen Condrey and Gene Fredrick Condrey; and his longtime friend and companion, Jasper "Jack" Highsmith Jr.
John is survived by his loving sisters, Beverly Carol Keene, Helen Frances Tunstall, and Virginia Kay Robbins (Charlie), along with many cherished nieces and nephews who will fondly remember him.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, located at 3215 Anderson Highway (Route 60), Powhatan, Virginia.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., also at Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, followed by interment at Powhatan Community Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association - Virginia Chapter (APDA Virginia) at www.apdaparkinson.org.
