of Powhatan went home to meet her Heavenly Father and family on December 26, 2013, after 98 blessed and well spent years. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Noah (Gip) Nelson; daughter, Sharon Berger. She is survived by her daughter Robin James, (Mike, favorite son-in-law of Powhatan); Ed Berger (favorite son-in-law of Amherst); along with a host of family and friends from her home town of Beaverdam. Among her many friends in Powhatan are James Perkins (deceased), Patti Meadows and nephew, J. O. Hatcher whom she held dearly. A memorial service will be held Saturday 1 pm in Muddy Creek Baptist Church, 3470 Trenholm Rd. Powhatan. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Powhatan Volunteer Rescue Squad, American Cancer Society or Salvation Army. On line condolences may be made at bennettbardenfh.com
