Julia Kemp Trier, age 73, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 7, 2026. Born on December 11, 1952, Julia lived a life filled with love, laughter, curiosity, and adventure.

Julia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur Trier, whom she loved deeply and missed dearly after his passing several years ago. Their love story was one filled with treasured memories, including a cruise they took together when they were younger that remained one of her favorite adventures. Her family finds comfort in knowing they are together again in heaven.

She is survived by her children: Rebecca (Mark), Roberta (Keith), Margaret, and Michael (Jennifer), along with her 10 cherished grandchildren who brought her endless pride and joy.

Throughout her life, Julia lived in New York, Rhode Island, Florida, and Canada before spending her final days in Virginia with family by her side. She especially loved the time she spent living in a French-speaking town in Canada, an experience she spoke about fondly over the years. She also treasured her years in Florida, where she found peace and happiness at the beach.

Julia had a deep love for music, history, and reading. She was endlessly curious about the world and found joy in learning, traveling, and sharing stories with those she loved. She had a warm spirit and a memorable way of encouraging others to simply be themselves, often saying, “You do you.”

Anyone who received a letter or note from Julia will remember how she always signed it with a waving smiling face — a small gesture that perfectly reflected her kind and loving heart.

Her family finds comfort in the words of Psalm 23:6: “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” They hold tightly to the peace of knowing Julia is now safe with Jesus and reunited with Arthur once again.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
