Katherine Cook Broaddus, 41, was brought home by a loving and merciful God on February 27, 2023. Born in Savannah, Georgia on July 1, 1981 she was the beloved daughter of Harry L. and Carol Hinson Broaddus. She is survived by her sister, Courtney Broaddus Marlow (Nick) and her special life-long friend Stephanie Elgert Schaible. Also, by uncles Philip L. Hinson of Austell, GA and J. Roger Hinson (Huhe) of Beijing, China, several aunts and cousins. She was predeceased by grandparents James M. and Frances Greene Hinson of Columbia, SC, Jean Cook Broaddus of Pittsboro, NC and Luther Broaddus, III of Magdelina, NM. Katherine was a 2000 graduate of Blessed Sacrament Huguenot Academy and attended Mary Baldwin College. She will be remembered by those who knew her best and loved her most for her gentle, sweet spirit. A creative soul, she was a gifted wordsmith who particularly enjoyed expressing herself through poetry and journaling. She was an avid reader and a lover of comedies. She had a tender compassionate heart for anyone or anything suffering. Her dream was to become a nurse, but poor health prevented its fulfillment. Before her health failed, she worked for Spring Arbor Assisted Living where she found joy and fulfillment interacting with the residents, frequently staying on to chat after her shift ended. While we grieve deeply for her, we rejoice in the knowledge that she is pain free and look forward to the day we are united again, forever, by the mercy and grace of God, by His Son, Our Savior, Our Lord Jesus Christ.
