Kathryn Gayle McQuiddy

Kathryn Gayle McQuiddy, 70, of Powhatan, VA passed away peacefully on January 17, 2024.
Kathy was born in Fargo, North Dakota on June 27, 1953.  She is preceded in death by her loving parents Orville I. Overboe, LuVonne G. Bergren, and Jacquelyn A. Running.  Her early childhood years were spent in North Dakota.  She moved to Arlington in 1966.  In 1972, she married Kerry McQuiddy and enjoyed 51 years of journeying through life with the man she adored.  She is survived by her husband, Kerry and three beautiful children:  Kristi Ainslie (Dan), Keith McQuiddy (Sarah), and Kelley Hilldrup (Drew).  Their family grew through the years to include nine grandchildren, Riley, Dillon, Connor, Haden, Cole, Cohen, Maya, Archer and Bayard, who lovingly call her "Nana."  
Kathy is survived by four siblings who love her dearly:  Beth Morrow (Mike), Julie Gibson (Randy), Troy Overboe (Jennifer), and Trent Overboe (Stephanie), along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Kathy graduated from Johnston Willis Nursing School in 1974.  She served the majority of her nursing profession with trusted friends and colleagues at Colon and Rectal Specialists in Richmond. 
Kathy was someone who could be counted on to look out for her family.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and cheering them on at sporting events.  She was an avid dog lover, preceded in death by her dogs Josie and Abby, and survived by her dog Milo, who was by her side at all times and misses her dearly. She also loved her annual Williamsburg shopping trips, and time at the beach with family and her wonderful group of friends known as the "Beach Babes."  
Kathy was loved by many and will be greatly missed.  Funeral services will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Richmond, Virginia on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 2pm.  The family will host guests at Bienvenue in Powhatan, Virginia from 4:30-6:30pm, following the service.
