Larry Charles Byrley

Larry Charles Byrley, 64, of Dillwyn, VA peacefully departed this earth on Thursday, October 5, 2023. He is survived by Debbie, his loving wife and soulmate of 35 years. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, two sisters and father-in-law.  He leaves in love his adored mother-in-law Betty Bass, daughters Jennifer Lawson (Adam) and Stephanie Waycaster (TJ) of Powhatan, grandchildren Blake (Haley), Emmalee (Coby), Jaksyn, Tyler and CeCe, great-grandson Storm  “Manny”, sisters Peggy (Joe) Ruppert of Oklahoma and Brandy, along with his beloved pets and many other family and friends. 

Larry was born to Jim and Nola Byrley of Oklahoma and spent his early years between OK and TX.  He traveled by motorcycle, working across the country and ended up in VA in the late 80’s.  He met Debbie and quickly settled here.  Larry was very much a family man, he loved his wife, children and grandchildren with all that he was.  He loved to travel, vacation, camp and anything on the water.  He enjoyed classic rock music and comedy movies.  Larry had a smile and laugh that was infectious and was always the jokester of every gathering. To know him was to love him.   His greatest achievements were being a wonderful husband, dad and papa.  

Family and friends will gather to celebrate and remember Larry’s life on Thursday, October 12th.  Funeral service will begin at 11am at PCC (Passion Community Church) Powhatan campus, 4480 Anderson Hwy, Powhatan VA.  Family will receive visitors following the service at reception.  There will be a graveside reconvening at Powhatan Community Cemetery, 3929 Old Buckingham Road, Powhatan, Va 23139.
