Leslie Gladwin Suggs

Leslie “Les” Gladwin Suggs, age 83, died Monday morning at home. Born October 1, 1936 in Portsmouth, Virginia to the late Noah Gladwin Suggs and Olive Mae Woodard Suggs. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. On Wednesday October 23rd at Bennett and Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy, Powhatan, VA. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. October 24 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in 2245 Huguenot Trail, Powhatan, VA 23139, with Reverend Doctor Sandi Kerner officiating. Les was survived by his wife of 56 years, Gladys Ann Smith Suggs; brother, Allen W. Suggs of Raleigh NC; daughter, Malinda M. Foster and her husband Howard Foster of Wendell NC; son, Edward N. Suggs of St. Petersburg, FL; son, Allen N. Suggs of Midlothian; daughter-in-law Angela Johnson Suggs; and grandchildren, Cullen Suggs and Zachary Suggs of Midlothian. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Knitting Guild of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
