Lewis Todd Cook, 52, of Powhatan, Virginia, passed away on October 18, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him deeply. He was born on February 4, 1973, in Farmville, Virginia, to Lewis and Bertha Cook.
Todd was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Carl and Ruth Tomlin and his paternal grandparents Columbus Walter and Laura Ethel Cook. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Kaila Cook (Dylan); his parents, Lewis and Bertha Cook; his sister, Kim Corson; his nephew, Thomas Corson (Ashley); his niece, Karah Amos (Bradley); his grandnieces, Addison, Zelda, and Juliet.
Todd lived his life with purpose, strength, and a heart full of love. He was a dedicated and hardworking man who built successful businesses over the years. He had a great sense of humor and loved making people laugh. Todd cherished spending time outdoors—whether hunting, working in the garden, or simply sitting outside enjoying the day. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved time spent with his uncles, his best friend Jason, and especially the camping trips on the river.
His greatest joy in life was his daughter, Kaila, who was his pride and joy. He shared a special bond with his nephew Thomas, spending countless hours talking and laughing together. Todd had a gift with children—everyone loved Todd. He was selfless and giving, the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
Todd loved God and shared his faith with others, even during his toughest days. He enjoyed spirited political conversations with his dad and carried with him a lifelong love for baseball. His kindness, humor, and strength touched everyone who knew him.
Todd’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and quiet strength. His legacy will live on forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
A visitation will be held Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in The Bennett & Barden Funeral Home. A service will be held Friday, October 24, 2025 at 11:00 am at Gospel Light Baptist Church, 2109 Anderson Highway, Powhatan. Interment Grove Cemetery.
