Lewis “Harvey” Sutton III, 83 of Powhatan, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 29, 2026 surrounded by his life partner, his children and their spouses, as well as several grandchildren. Harvey was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Sutton, and grandson, Nicholas Booth.
He is survived by his life partner, Pat DeNoon; children, Lewis Harvey Sutton IV, Jennifer Sutton Booth (Dave), Roger Jamerson (Sheri), and Alice English (Chuck); grandchildren, Quint, Ashley, Taylor, Nelson, Megan, Maggie, Emily, Sarah, Blake and Sydney; great-grandchildren, Caroline, Olivia, Avery, Riley, Crew, Brooks, Penny, Parker, and Blair; Pat’s children and grandchildren; and his precious cat, Reba.
Harvey was a diehard Raiders fan and relished watching all sports. He loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and he treasured his Thursday poker games with his buddies. Harvey enjoyed Nascar events, traveling locally and internationally, his Christmas shopping trips with his grandchildren, but most of all his Vegas trips with them. Harvey was a history enthusiast, loved to read, and appreciated good country music. Ultimately, he was the most proud of being a father and Granddad.
The family will receive visitors, Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 3pm-4pm with a service at 4pm in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to The Nick Booth and Will Hammitt Memorial Scholarship, the Powhatan Rescue Squad, the American Heart Association, or the American Cancer Society. Interment will be private.
