Linda Lucus Hague

November 29, 1945 — January 21, 2021

Linda Lucus Hague, 75 of Powhatan, went to meet our Lord on Jan 21, 2021. Born in Staunton to Herbert W. & Betty Jo Lucus. Linda was a teacher all her life. She retired from Chesterfield where she taught at Elkhardt and Salem Middle School . A She was a proud Alumni of Peace High school Raleigh, NC. She was a contributor to From the Heart where she shared her love of knitting other people. An honorary member of the Staunton Augusta Rescue Squad. Linda was a Church Elder and served as a trustee for Hebron Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband, Francis Poates; brothers, Thomas J. Lucus (Linda), Joseph W. Lucus (Brenda) and Jeff J. Lucus (Pat Allen): step-son, Wayne Poates; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; extended family, Judy & Kip Jones and Pat Allen. Linda was a loving teacher, wife, sister, friend, and aunt to all who knew her. She enjoyed being with family, knitting, reading and shopping. She was beautiful inside and out. The family would like to thank the staff at MCV for their love, compassion and kindness during a time when it was so much needed. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday Jan 27, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the Hebron Presbyterian Church, 1040 Shallow Well Rd, Manakin Sabot, VA 23103. In Lieu of Flowers donations may be sent to From the Heart 1425 Crawford wood Pl, Midlothian, Virginia 23114 or St Jude’s in Linda’s name. Online condolences may be made at bennettbarden@msn.com.
