Lisa was born in Charles Town, WV to James Robert Cain and Constance Goode Cain on February 20, 1954. She went to high school in Charles Town before attending a year of nursing school and other college and professional courses. Lisa owned a secretarial agency which was sold in 1974. She married Christopher Michael Curran on June 6, 1979 in London, England. Later she was a top manager at AB&C corporation and fulfillment company before spending several years as a legal assistant for an elder care attorney. She ended her career as an office manager and bookkeeper for Century 21 Redwood Realty in Berryville. Chris and Lisa lived in Clarke County at the foot of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains for many years before moving to Powhatan in 2021.

Lisa selflessly spent most of her life helping others. She volunteered her time and love to Blue Ridge Hospice as well as the food bank and backpacks program at Grace Episcopal Church. Her greatest loves were her grandchildren and the children she guided as an emergency foster care parent. Several of her foster children are still in touch as adults. When Lisa wasn’t taking care of someone else, she loved to garden, read, and dance.

Lisa is preceded in death by her mother (Connie Cain), her bonus mother (Edna Cain), and her father (Bob Cain).

Lisa is survived by her devoted husband Chris, daughter Samantha Carson and husband Greg, son Terrance Curran and partner Hillary, brother Robby Cain and wife Sherry, brother Joe Cain and wife Barbara, grandchildren Andrew, Abigail, Hailey, and Caitlyn Carson, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
