Littleton Cecil “Chuck” English, Jr. went into the arms of the Lord Jesus Christ on July 2, 2025. Chuck was born on July 23, 1939, in Richmond, to Littleton Cecil English, Sr. and Virginia Lee English. He grew up in Richmond but spent his younger years in Alexandria, Virginia.
Anyone who knew him socially can attest that he was a true gadget man, with no project too big or too small. Professionally, he was known as The Pinball Doctor, specializing in arcade games, juke boxes and pool tables, and he was as skilled at playing them as he was at repairing them. Outside of this passion, he enjoyed swimming, family pool parties and cruising in their red 1960 Corvette. He was just as passionate about his family as he was about his hobbies.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Brenda Barbour English; four children, Lynn Doherty (Michael), Charles English (Alice), Teresa Lester (Phil) and Debbie Lee; seven grandchildren, Jordan Edwards (Logan), Megan Jordan (Eric), Sarah English, Brandon Doherty, Tracy Lee, Eric Lester and Chris Lester; sister, Marsha English; six great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents and his sister, Shirley Snyder.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 11 am at Sunset Memorial Park (2901 W Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23831). All are welcome to attend and honor Chuck’s life. (Chuck’s favorite color was red for their red Corvette).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MDS Foundation or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, in loving memory of Chuck English.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Francis Medical Center and Heartland Hospice for their compassion and care.
