Matthew Winston Jones, 31, of Powhatan, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023. He was preceded in death by his mother, Esther Diane Trumbo Jones; and grandmother, Marie Jones King.
He is survived by his father, Leon Winston Jones, II; sister, Whitney Marie Jones; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Matthew's smile and laugh were infectious to those around him. His dedication to his passions was exceptional. He loved the outdoors and being active. This included hunting and fishing, but his greatest passion was golf. Matthew aspired to change the world through his golfing platform. He will forever be remembered as a loving son, brother, and friend. He will be dearly missed.
A golf tournament will be held in honor of Matthew and to celebrate his life. Details, regarding the tournament, will be available soon.
