Patricia Allen Lucas

Midlothian, Virginia – Patricia (Pat) Allen Lucas, 89, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 3, 2022.  Born August 7, 1933 in Wadesboro, North Carolina, was the daughter of Valley Forge Allen and Beatrice Coln Allen. 

Pat is survived by her husband of 67 years, William (Bill) Campbell Lucas, Jr; by her son William Campbell Lucas III of Albany, Georgia and his daughter Cara Lucas-Edwards of Palmetto, Georgia; her daughter Katherine Elizabeth Lucas of Winchester, Virginia; her son Robert Hume Lucas and his wife Ginette of Glen Allen, Virginia, and their daughters Anna Martine Lucas of Mechanicsville, Virginia and Katherine Isabelle Lucas of Williamsburg, Virginia.  Pat is predeceased by her daughter Patricia Berry, but is survived by her grandsons William Frederick Berry of Inman, South Carolina, and Robert Lucas Berry and his wife Margaret of Greer, South Carolina.

Pat will be remembered for her commitment to her family and her Christian faith, her gracious hospitality, and her sense of fun.  She graduated from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC, and married Bill shortly thereafter.  In the early years of their marriage, she and Bill lived in Germany, where she developed a taste for travel.  She visited most of Europe and Israel during her lifetime.  She devoted herself to her family, and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday November 10, 2022 at 2:30 pm at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Powhatan, Virginia, followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 2245 Huguenot Trail, Powhatan, Virginia 23139.
