Ralph G. Benninghove

Ralph G. Benninghove, 91 of Powhatan, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on September 19, 2025. He was born in Richmond, VA to the late William Forest Benninghove and Helen Rainey Benninghove. He was later placed in the Virginia Home for Boys, where he went into Foster Care. He eventually went to live at the home of John Bernard Bullock and Ruth Gray Bullock, who raised him as one of their own.

Ralph is survived by his children, Gordon Michael Benninghove, Brenda Benninghove Schumacher (Bob), Karen Benninghove Knight (Melvin); grandchildren, Bonnie Blevins (Billy), Mandi Glidewell, Katie Glidewell and Crystal Crane, (Eric); great-grandchildren, Hunner Blevins, Emma Blevins and Raelynn McDaniel; and step-grandchildren, Schelbi Schumacher and Savanna Schumacher Ward (Cameron) ; and step great-grandchild, Violet Ward.

In addition to his parents and Foster parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Deloras Louise (Granny) Miller Benninghove; siblings and Step-Siblings, brother, John Bullock Jr. (Doris); sisters, Beatrice Bullock Shotwell (Thomas) and Jean Saunders (Earl).

The family will receive friends Saturday September 27,2025, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 PM in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Highway, Powhatan, VA 23139. A service will follow at 3:00 PM. A reception will immediately follow the service at the home of Brenda & Robert Schumacher and Micheal Benninghove at 1640 Page Road, Powhatan, VA 23139. Interment Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newby's Bridge Road, Chesterfield, VA 23832 at 12:00 PM on Monday, September 29th.
